This saw is the best and most versatile at this price point. Although the Dewalt 8 1/2 inch saw is also good at this price point, it cannot use a dado stack and does not have the same cutting capacity. I have not owned this saw very long, so I cannot comment on longevity but I have used this saw almost daily since I obtained it and it has operated like a champ. Due to the ability to dial in this saw quickly and efficiently it has made my woodworking cuts accurate and the power allows the saw to cut through wood like butter. I researched many other contractor/ job site saws and found this to be the best overall option. At 300 dollars it is the best value out there. My only complaint is the table saw height is too low for me with the attached legs, I built a table saw stand for it which fixed the problem and allowed me to continue to use my out feed tables. Great saw so far, highly recommend it if you are looking for a saw in this category and price point.

My first table saw purchase. I did a lot of research before buying. And I kept coming back to this one. Price was great, warranty was a plus, and features like the rack and pinion fence made it worth buying. Would highly recommend

Great Table Saw for beginners and professionals

Great saw for the price.  Accurate and square.  I bought a ridgid before it and the fence with the rack and pinion was off 3/16 of an inch.  The only drawback is it is loud. But as I age I use hearing protection.

Really happy with the Skil 10 inch model TS6307-00 table saw. Fence is extendable to a 25 inch cut to the right, So you can rip a 4 ft piece of plywood in half. The blade and fence were really close  to square and adjusting then to square was easy.

 The legs are really solid and fold up really easy.  Just push the unlock button with your thumb and swing the legs out. It is really solid on the legs. It is really compact and easy to carry and takes up less storage space than one with a foldable wheeled stand. One edge of the table has no protrusions or mechanisms that can be damaged, so it can be stored on that edge on a small board attached to a wall and secured with a simple turn handle.

 It has plenty of power. The fence is adjustable. It can be locked in three different locations and is controlled with a gear drive knob. The fence lock is slightly unhandy. You have to reach around to the right and under the edge of the table. The blade is easy enough to change. The crosscut guide is rather small and made of plastic, but it is fine for small work.

 It is loud. It has a dust collection connection for your vac or dust collector. I think it is a great saw for homeowners and a really easy to carry portable saw for contractors. I included pics of how I store it. Young strong guys will be able to put it up on an upper shelf. This saw got good reviews by professionals on web sites and deservedly so.  I considered a 150 dollar 8 inch saw for my limited use, but I am glad that I spent twice that for this saw. The extra cut thickness, ease of storage and setup, extendable fence and the solid legs made it money well spent.

Great 10 inch table saw for the money.

I absolutely love it. Out of the box the fence was dead square with no adjustment needed. The only thing I had to adjust was the measurement indicator and it was only off by 1/32th. Can't say enough good things about this saw. I highly recommend it to anyone who has limited space and needs a saw that's reliable.

Buy this saw if you're smart

This is my second table saw I have an 8.25 craftsman cheap without a crappy fence this one is significantly better and with a 10 inch blade I have enough blade to fit my needs.

Love skil tools

This saw is a huge upgrade from my last jobsite saw.  This thing is dead on accurate after a couple very minor adjustments; the blade was parallel %26 angles were perfect out of the box, and I just needed to make minor adjustments to 2 of the fence locations %26 getting the measurent indicators dialed in perfectly.

The rack %26 pinion fence is incredible (fence is perfectly straight %26 plumb).  Only minor complaint compared to my old saw is the smoothness of the blade height adjustment that seems to be due to the use of composite gears vs metal.  I think they will last (doesn't seem like typical plastic), just not quite as smooth.  The height on the stand is a little low for me (I'm 6'3") at just over 33", but a small 2x4 scrap under each leg puts it at a good working height %26 for using my other workshop tables for outfeed or support; the stand is very stable, even on the blocks.

I'm very happy with the additional safety features compared to my old Porter Cable (bought used with zero, not even riving knife).

It is SO nice to have a consistently accurate fence without measuring %26 tweaking.  This has changed the game for me.

Amazing saw, incredible value

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Fantastic buy, I am upgrading from an OLD SKIL model 3400 type1 which was great and lasted years but this saw sure blows it out of the water. Once you go rack and pinion you won't go back, max rip capacity is about 25", easily replicatable zero clearance plate, adjustable measurement needle, blade parallel adjustment, dust collection which collects about 85% of chips from open cuts and nearly 99% from plywood. Only con is a dado blade insert was not included, nor a zero clearance, and only 1out of 4 foot is adjustable for level? Not a deal breaker best 299 I ever spent. This is a fantastic saw, noise compared to original saw is still about 88% (meaning you need ear protection) I love it

Sticking with THE brand SKIL

I have the recently refreshed version of the TS6307 and I'm liking it a lot. The insert plate now seems to be metal, but otherwise it's the same saw overall. I think the writhing knife operates slightly differently than the previous version, but I can't confirm that.

Great little saw!

Plenty to like about the saw, except no wrenches. I called Skil Customer Service thinking I must be looking in the wrong place. On the contrary, they were not shipped with the saw. Lo and behold they have one wrench to send, but not the other. In Conclusion, they are shipping the saws without wrenches because they don't have them. I do consider it a bit petty, but it's like getting a set of sockets with one missing. You buy the set to have the complete set. Shoddy dealings with consumers or contractors will not bode well for investors. I got no apology, no offer to make it right, just apathy. It's contagious because I am now apathetic about Skil products and customer service. Goodbye.
